In my opinion, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (the organization behind the measure) professes to be an advocate for safety, but it’s true agenda is to eliminate the adult entertainment industry entirely. As a Los Angeles County resident, I want to make sure you are fully aware of Measure B on your ballot in November, and ask for your help in fighting it. Measure B threatens not only the adult industry, but the safety of the workers it promises to protect. Measure B will make condoms mandatory in any porn produced in LA county. On the surface that seems perfectly reasonable, but if you dig deeper you see it is a ridiculous waste of taxpayer dollars, unworkable and unnecessary. For decades, the adult film industry has worked closely with public health officials to ensure that actors are protected from sexually transmitted infections. The industry has a strict testing program: every single actor is tested at least once a month. Not a single actor has contracted HIV on an adult film set anywhere in the U.S. for more than eight years. Not one. We have deep respect for AIDS prevention organizations. But Measure B would waste hundreds of thousands of tax dollars every year to enforce a law that is not needed thus stripping critical resources from current AIDS programs. Measure B is so poorly written that it would not only require actors to use condoms on set, but it could also require the use of dental dams, goggles, and gloves. Public health officials oppose Measure B because, by driving film productions underground where there is no testing and no industry regulations, it could make actors less safe, not more. Image may be NSFW.Stop the press! Venus Lux has launched her own website. This is not your typical solo model website. How so? you you ask. I’m gonna tell you. First let me give you some background on how solo sites are typically operated. The model typically takes no part in the overall management, production, post-production, etc. They usually do their photoshoots (likely at the direction of the photographer) and that’s about it other than helping with promotion. The models often don’t actually own the sites either. Venus-Lux.com is fully owned by Venus Lux. She oversees everything from the initial layout to the shoots. I taught her some photoshop techniques, so she can even do. She chose me to be her webmaster. Whereas many solo sites have one photographer shoot the content, Venus has worked with several shooters (myself among them.) So you will see a wide variety in the types of shoots as well as the styles of different photographers / videographers.
I’ve been in this business since 1998. In all that time, I have not met any model with the business acumen Venus has. I barely knew her when we started this project. She moved into my house for two months while we worked on this. I really enjoyed that time. She brought a positive energy to my home. She is now back home in San Francisco. Her site has been up for a few weeks, but I waited until we worked some bugs out before announcing it here. The site is on a weekly update schedule. She has lots of ideas – more every day. So we can expect to see her site evolve continuously. I think this girl is going places and I hope you will show her your support. The normal monthly subscription rate for her site is $19.95. In the past year, I have been expanding my horizons as a photographer by going in on a studio, buying new equipment, learning new techniques and shooting outside the transsexual world.
