Stop the press! Venus Lux has launched her own website. This is not your typical solo model website. How so? you you ask. I’m gonna tell you. First let me give you some background on how solo sites are typically operated. The model typically takes no part in the overall management, production, post-production, etc. They usually do their photoshoots (likely at the direction of the photographer) and that’s about it other than helping with promotion. The models often don’t actually own the sites either. Venus-Lux.com is fully owned by Venus Lux. She oversees everything from the initial layout to the shoots. I taught her some photoshop techniques, so she can even do. She chose me to be her webmaster. Whereas many solo sites have one photographer shoot the content, Venus has worked with several shooters (myself among them.) So you will see a wide variety in the types of shoots as well as the styles of different photographers / videographers.
I’ve been in this business since 1998. In all that time, I have not met any model with the business acumen Venus has. I barely knew her when we started this project. She moved into my house for two months while we worked on this. I really enjoyed that time. She brought a positive energy to my home. She is now back home in San Francisco. Her site has been up for a few weeks, but I waited until we worked some bugs out before announcing it here. The site is on a weekly update schedule. She has lots of ideas – more every day.
